A multi-vehicle crash involving a school bus laden with children on Halloween afternoon in Anderson Township, Ohio resulted in a non-life threatening injury to the driver of the bus. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported as being sustained in the crash. The crash took place near the intersection of Wolfangel Road and Clough Pike in a small township just east of Cincinnati.

A teenaged male was reportedly traveling southbound on Wolfangel Road when he, for reasons unknown, lost control of his vehicle and crossed over the line into oncoming traffic, causing his vehicle to collide with the school bus, which, in turn, smashed into a road sign. The bus was carrying two dozen passengers who were on their way home from Nagel Middle School at the time of the crash. The vehicle behind the teen’s car struck the teen as he swerved out of control, and the vehicle behind the bus rear-ended the bus in the aftermath of the initial collision.

The driver of the bus was transported to Mercy Anderson Hospital to be treated for her injuries. Although officials have stated that drugs and alcohol were unlikely to have played a role in the crash, it is still unknown as to whether speeding may have been a factor. The roadway was reported as being slick at the time of the crash, and thus, road conditions may have been partially responsible for the occurrence of the collision.

The teenaged driver was issued a ticket for failure to maintain reasonable control of his vehicle. He was not injured in the crash, nor were any of the students on board the bus. The students were escorted off the bus, evaluated by first responders, and released to another bus after their health and safety was ascertained.

Witnesses who live near the site of the collision reported hearing the vehicles smash together, followed by the sounds of sirens wailing as emergency workers arrived on scene.
